Aberdeen play in the top flight of scottish football, formed in 1903. They the 3rd most succesful team in scotland (after Celtic and Rangers. Aberdeen enjoyed a highly succesful period in the 1980’s under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson he guided them to three league championships, UEFA Cup Winners Cup defeating the mighty Real Madrid they also won the Super Cup and are the only scottish team to win this, they beat Hamburg 2-0, and are the only scottish team to win two European trophies.
Aberdeen have one the scottish premier league on 3 occasions (which ties them with both Hearts and Hibernian), Aberdeen were the last club outside of the old firm to win the scottish premier league in the 1984-1985 season. Aberdeen currently play at Pittodrie they were the first british team to have an all seated stadium and also introduced the dug out which is now used by all top flight teams.
