Brief Playing history: He hasn’t played professional football when he was younger.
Brief Management history: He started coaching in 1972 at the youth team from his home-town and after 14 years of coaching youngsters he was promoted to the first team coach, leading them to two consecutive Toto Cup victories, in 1990 and 1991. In 1991 he moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv and in his first season there he took the team to win the Liga ha’Al (1st league from Israel). The next year he won the Israel Cup and a year later he took the title again in Israel 1st league. In 1995 he left the team for 1 year to coach Hapoel Haifa, but he wasn’t too successful there, and he came back to Maccabi Tel Aviv where he coached until 2000. In 2000, he swiched teams again and he went to Maccabi Haifa, where he lead the team to win twice the Liga ha’Al and once the Toto Cup. In 2002, he was appointed as coach for Israel international team and he managed to finish 3rd in a qualifying group with France and Switzerland. In 2007, soon after Jose Mourinho quitted from Chelsea, he was appointed as coach here.
