Blackburn Rovers is one of the three teams that founded English Football League and Premier League, together with Everton and Aston Villa. They play at their current stadium, Ewood Park from 1890. Their first successful period was in the 30s when they managed to win the league and FA Cup several times but they have had bad times too. In 1966 they relegated and stayed 26 successive seasons outside Premier League.

In 1992, after being bought by local steel baron Jack Walker, they were promoted again in Premier League. Jack Walker inversted a lot of money in new talent, he brought Alan Shearer, Chris Suttom and appointed as Kenny Dalglish as manager and this moves were really good. In the first year after promotion, they finished 4th, next year they were runners up and in 1994 Blackburn Rovers were crowned champions of English Prmier League.

But the success was only temporary because in 1999 they were relegated again. They managed to get back in Premier League 2 years later, just after Jack Walter died, and in the last seasons they struggle to finish in a decent position that would qualify them for European competitions. Their last success came in 2002 when they managed to win League cup, beating Tottenham Hotspurs with 2-1 in the finals.
