Celtic Football club is based in glasgow scotland currently they play in the top flight of scottish football the clydesdale premier league. Celtic play all there home games at celtic park which is the biggest football stadium in scotland and currently only manchester united have a larger capacity club football stadium, the average attendance at celtic park is almost 58,000.
Celtic and rival’s Rangers FC make up the “Old Firm” one of football’s most famous rivalries. In 1967 Celtic FC became the first team in the UK to win the European Cup that year Celtic famously won 5 Trophies under then manager Jock Stein. To this day celtic are the only team to have ever won the cup with “home grown” talent.
In 2003 manager Martin O’NeillĀ led Celtic to the UEFA Cup Final in Seville, against FC Porto the game was a well fought game however celtic ended up loose 3-2 in extra time, The travelling celtic fans were said to be in the region of 80,000.
