Liverpool are probably their biggest rivals and each year they play in the Merseyside Derby. Liverpool were formed after a dispute over the rent of Anfield, which was actually Everton’s Old Ground. Since then, Everton moved to Goodinson Park as a result of a split and there, they have the 7th average attendance from English Premier League with almost 36,000 people at every match.
The Club’s original name, St. Domingo came from St. Domingo’s Church and was changed an year later to Everton FC. They won their first championship trophee in 1891 but their first sustained period of success began in 1927, when Dixie Dean settled a record for goals scored in only one season: 60 goals in 39 matches. Last year, Everton finished 6th in English Premier and qualified for UEFA Cup where they are doing a good job until now.
