Motherwell
Name: Fir Park Stadium
Nickname: -
When Built: 1895
Capacity: 13,742
Record Attendance: 35,632 – 1952 – Motherwell vs Rangers

Address: Fir Park Street, Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, ML1 2QN

Description: The stadium is all-seater with a capacity of 13,742. The stadium’s design is pretty unbalanced, with large and small stands. The largest stand is the South Stand, built in 1993. Opposite to it is a really small stand, built in 1995, called Davie Cooper Stand. Along the east side, there’s a former terrace that has been converted to seating area called the East Stand. The main stand is opposite to the east stand but this stand only covers two thirds of the length of the pitch.

Brief History: Built in 1895, the stadium has been Motherwell’s house since when it was opened. During time there were several modifications made to the stadium but only in the 1990s the stadium became all-seated and new, modern stands were built. The record attendance was over 35,000 in 1952 in a cup match against Rangers and this season, the owners Motherwell, are sharing the stadium with newly promoted Gretna until they’ll redevelop their stadium to be compliant with Scottish Premier League rules.
