Gareth SouthgateName: Gareth Southgate
Age: 37
Nationality: Brittish
Current Club: Middlesbrough

Brief Playing history: He began professional football at Crystal Palace, playing as central midfielder in 1989. He was appointed as captain for Crystal Palace and he helped the team to win Division One title and gain promotion to English Premier League. In 1995 when Crystal was relegated, he moved to Aston Villa, where he was converted as centre-back forming a formidable defence. In his first season here, he managed to win the League Cup and he remained at Villa until 2001 when he signed with Middlesbrough. Here he played until the end of his career, in 2006. His skills took him in England’s team, where he played 57 games.

Brief Management history: In 2006, after Steve McLaren left the team to coach England, Gareth Southgate was appointed as Middlesbrough coach. He didn’t had any major successes with Boro as a manager, but the team managed to win with 5-1 in front of Bolton Wanderers in 2007, so that would be his biggest success as a manager.
