Manchester United is one of the most popular football clubs in the world, with over 330 million supporters worldwide, almost 5% of the world’s population. The team is based at the Olt Trafford Stadium in Trafford, Greater Manchester. The club was formed in 1878 as Newton Heath and in 1902 they changed name to Manchester United and they also settled red and white as team’s official colors. During time, the club became one of the most successful in English Football, wininning 18 major honours in the last 20 years, which is more than any other premier league club. Manchester had the biggest average attendances in english football since 1964-65. In 2005 the club was bought by American businessman Malcom Grazer, which appointed his sons as chairmans.

They are the reigning champions from Premier League, with 16 Premier League wins. They also won twice European Champions League, the last time in 1999 when Manchester United became the only team from England that won a treble, winning Premier League, FA Cup and European Champions League in the same season.
In the last 20 years the team was lead to victory by Sir Alex Ferguson. He was appointed as manager at Manchester United in 6 November 1986 and he is the most successful manager, winning more trophies than any other manager in the history of English football.
