Tottenham Hotspur Football Club
Nicknames: Spurs, Lilywhites
Founded: 1882 as Hotspur FC
Stadium: White Hart Lane
Capacity: 36,240
Owner: Joseph Levy
Chairman: Daniel Levy
Manager: Juande Ramos
Founded in 1882 as Hotspur FC, Tottenham was the first English club to win a double, in 1961, when they won League Championship and FA Cup. 2 years later, in 1963, they were the first brittish club to win an European trophee, after they have won European Cup Winners Cup. In the 80s they won FA Cup 2 times, Community Shield and in 1984 they won UEFA Cup.
Each year, in the North London Derby, they meet with their biggest rivals, Arsenal. From 2001, the club is owned by the brittish billionaire Joseph Levy, and his partner, Daniel Levy is Executive Chairman of the spurs.
In 2007, Tottenham owners brought a new, experienced coach to the team. Juande Ramon managed to win twice in consecutive years UEFA Cup with FC Sevilla and hopefully he would do a great job here at the spurs too. The club invested a lot of money bringing new players to the team, like Gareth Bale, Robbie Keane, Danny Rose, Kevin-Prince Boateng and many others. As for future plans, the club wants to invest in upgrading the stadium to a capacity of 52,000 that will probably lead to a lot of changes to White Hart Lane stadium.
